Quentin Lawson of the National Alliance of Black School Educators was a married man with children and a job in 1963. He recalls feeling "somewhat dubious" about the March on Washington, as he was doing well in life. He decided to attend, "There was something inwardly, just kept driving me and said that this is something that you just ought to be a part of ... It was a life-changing event for me."
