Booker Moten
As a child, Booker Moten spent his time between Kansas and Missouri, until his family ultimately settled in Detroit. As a student, he participated in demonstrations and protests, including 1963 Detroit Walk to Freedom. Personally, the passionate rhetoric of that historic event was new to him and life-changing. "It was nice to feel we are together, were unified, were united, and we are diverse."
