A Freedom Rider's Story

Joan Trumpauer Mulholland was already accepted as a student to Tougaloo College in Mississippi when the Freedom Rides began. Mulholland joined others, including her friend Stokely Carmichael, on a train bound for Jackson, Miss. She, along with many others, was arrested and shares details of her experience in prison following the protest.
