Honoring Dr. King With a Holiday in Colorado

Wilma Webb, former Colorado State Rep. and former first lady of Denver, recalls her efforts in the early 1980s to pass legislation to honor Martin Luther King Jr. with a state holiday in Colorado. She states, "I ran for State Representative [...] The first year that I was there, of course it was 1980. Here I was with this great big bill that was controversial." Four years later, that bill was passed.
