The Little Rock Nine
Moments In Civil Rights History
In September of 1957, the Little Rock Nine entered Central High School on orders of a federal court to desegregate the school. Carlotta Walls was the youngest of the group. In February 1960, four weeks before her graduation, a bomb exploded at her family home. Thankfully, Carlotta, her mother and sister were not injured.
See Carlotta Walls LaNier's first-hand account of her experiences here: Carlotta Walls LaNier of the Little Rock 9.
