Ambassador Andrew Young

Ambassador Andrew Young, Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, discusses his early life, “I was very aware of segregation, but I had adjusted to it.” He recalls Dr. King saying that he was too adjusted, “You have to be maladjusted to racism, you can’t adjust to it.” He further shares the story of Dr. King’s arrest in Birmingham during a protest, which led to his “Letter from Birmingham City Jail.”
